i've been a fan of lolita since 3 years now, but i've never thought of looking for communities that share my obsession for that book/movie. it's only after watching it again lately that i got the idea. so, yeah... is the community still alive?

10:19 am - New mod!
Hey y'all...dollihaze has just added me on as a co-mod, so I just thought I'd say hi to everyone. :) This community has been rather dead, so we're hoping to reinvigorate it a bit...does anyone have any suggestions for improvement or anything?

11:38 pm - Hi everyone/ My Lo Outlook
Hi, you know, I was really amazed to find such a variety of communities on this topic here. I'm russian, and believe me, in our russian livejournal world you'll hardly be able to find someone to support it. wonder why, but still...
i love your community, just because it's quiet beautiful and not dirty and thus pleases my aesthetic sole...
i read the book about a year ago, when I was fourteen, and, you know, since that time it plays a great part in my life. In my eternal search for individuality i somehow realized this was what i needed, and what sometimes takes over me now is what I call The Lo instinct...
But why does it? I do wonder. It might be my pathological desire for smth uncommon and exciting, might be dissatisfaction with guys of my age. or anything.
i've never had such kind of story in my life and i certainly wish to have one, although i doubt if i should leave it a dream not to be dissilusioned..
What I mean is that Nabokov's story, ideally, should be read as a fairy-tale, no more, otherwise in its interpretations it gets dirty, doesn't it?
read, admire, and live in it. but should we try to bring into life?

Hey,I'm new to this community, I read a book when I was 15 and immidiatly fell in love with it, however, my real addiction to Lolita came only when I watched Adrian's version, I fell in love will all the characters.I love very single moment of the movie, and it's really my all-time favorite.
the most I like the first scene of the movie, when Humbert is driving in the fild. I hope we can share feelings about the movie,'cause it's hard to find people who love Lolita..sadly.

Hi, I'm new. Just though I would post some things I wrote in my journal comparing Lyne's version with Kubrick's. There's pics to.
